About this event

For the past three years, the BananEx project has been researching the resilience of the banana supply.

The recent arrival of TR4 in Colombia makes collaboration between industry and researchers in the UK and Latin American partners even more urgent. As BananEx draws to a close, the project will bring together stakeholders to deliver key insights from the research. This event will also look ahead to how the banana industry can collectively respond to the threat of TR4 and climate impacts.

This is an opportunity to network, discover some of the latest research on the nation’s favourite fruit and look to the future of the banana trade while celebrating the work of BananEx, a £1.2 million interdisciplinary project led by Exeter University.

  • Receive key climate, economic and agricultural research insights
  • Learn how the global banana trade could evolve
  • See perspectives from industry, government, NGOs and other stakeholders
  • Understand possible futures and help shape a response
  • Meet with industry, NGOs, government and researchers
